To travel to Russia, most foreign nationals are required to have an Entry Visa to Russia. Russian visas can be obtained at local Russian Embassy or Consulate. The document gives permission to enter and leave the country. If you lose it or exceed the stay duration you can have difficulties upon departure.
In order to get a Russian visa, the first thing you need is an invitation (also known as visa support letter). After that, you can apply for the visa at a Russian consulate either by yourself or through a local travel agent (usually for an extra fee).
